When considering a surgeon and facility for your bariatric surgery, it is important to choose one that has a comprehensive medical weight loss program and support staff that you can count on throughout your weight loss journey.
At Advanced Bariatrics this is exactly what you will find – a caring team of professionals including physicians, bariatric nurse coordinator, dietitian, psychiatrists, medical assistants and insurance specialists – all invested in your personal journey. Our program is also accredited with the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP).
Taking the first step towards a healthier you.
Your journey will start by attending a free informational seminar that provides you with information regarding the different types of bariatric surgery and introduces you to your bariatric team. Following the informational session, you will meet for a one-on-one consultation with one of our surgeons to discuss your personal health and weight loss goals in order to determine which procedure is right for you. Next, you will meet with our dietitian who will begin to teach you about the new habits you will need to adopt in order to be successful after surgery. Meeting with a psychiatrist/psychologist is also important in order to get clearance for bariatric surgery. It is important to note that some insurance companies may require medically managed weight loss prior to surgery. Once these initial steps have been completed, our team obtains approval from your insurance for bariatric surgery and happily gets you started on the next phase of your journey – getting scheduled for surgery.
Our journey with you continues post surgery.
Ultimately, the goal of Advanced Bariatrics is to help patients become healthy and to support them on their weight loss journey. This support and encouragement continues long after surgery is over. Our physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and dietitians are meant to be used by you as long-term resources for success. Participating in our support group is also another tremendous resource for our patients. We want you to be healthy for the long-term and remember that healthy is not a size…it’s a lifestyle!
