My Journey
At the beginning of my journey, I felt horrible, fat, unhealthy, weak, and defeated. In addition, I had a ton of back pain from a back injury/surgery I had in 2005. I also had hip bursitis. I also found that I never wanted to play much with my children because I would always get short winded, sore, and felt like I was always unhappy. However, even once I made the decision to have surgery, I wanted to give up because I didn’t think I could do it. But, I kept looking at my family and knew I had to do it for a better future for them.
Once I was a few weeks out from surgery, I knew I had chosen the right path for my life in having the surgery. Now that I have lost the weight, my back and hip pain have resolved. I have been off major pain meds for over 12 months now and barely ever take Tylenol anymore for those issues. The weight off my joints has helped so much, and I feel incredible not having to take breaks or take pain meds all the time. I most of all enjoy just being able to be me again. In addition, I am now able to ride a bike for miles, walk long distances, jog, play with the kids and not get short winded. I feel like a WHOLE new person.
During my entire journey, Dr. Cheregi has been so helpful, kind, and patient. It made me feel at ease, and he made sure I felt comfortable every step of the way. He is an amazing soul. Thanks to his help, I am now able help others stay positive in their journeys and to keep them focused on the end goal and why they chose this path. I would not change what I did on my journey for anything. I can now be there for my kids without feeling blah, out of breath, and sore. I can do so much more now than I never dreamed of, and it feels great doing life! Best decision ever!
