My Journey
I was thin my whole life, and never struggled with serious weight issues…until I got into my 30’s. That is when things went grossly downhill. I started to turn to food to help me cope with life, and depression. My weight yo-yoed so much until I finally ballooned up to my highest weight. I had a hard time walking and being active in general. It was difficult to catch my breath and I was always in pain (back, foot, and leg pain). Before I turned 40, I was up to 280 pounds. I was sad, depressed, and ashamed of how heavy I had gotten. I had already been thinking about bariatric surgery, and this number is what kicked my butt to seriously search for a doctor.
I found Dr. Cheregi in March 2020 thanks to an online search. All the reviews I read about him were so positive, and it really boosted my confidence in seeking his help. After I met him, I was all-hands-on-deck with everything Dr. Cheregi asked me to do. He has been one of my biggest cheerleaders along this journey, and I did not want to let him down. I was serious about my surgery and wanted to set myself up for success.
Since surgery, I no longer have back, foot, or leg pain. I can walk up and downstairs with no issues. Heck, I can even carry my stubborn 50-pound bulldog up the stairs when needed! I am down over 100 pounds now and counting. I am more active than I have been in 10 years and feel great! I am so positive about my future and can never thank Dr. Cheregi and his amazing staff enough for all they have done for me. Getting sleeved was the best decision I have ever made in my life!
