My Journey
My weight loss journey started four years ago when I looked at myself in the mirror and hated myself. At 275 pounds, I hated how I looked and hated how I felt. While I had always thought about weight loss surgery, I would say that I didn’t have surgery sooner because if I’m being honest I was lazy and scared because I knew how much work and effort it would take.
Once I built up the courage to actually meet with a weight loss surgeon, I chose Dr. Cheregi based upon a friend’s recommendation. Up until the day of the appointment, I kept questioning myself wondering if this was the right thing to do and if I could be successful with it. I was also very nervous but also excited for the first consult. Dr. Cheregi put all my fears to rest as soon as I met with him. His welcoming smile and confident handshake immediately put me at ease. It was so refreshing to have a physician to take the time to get to know me and ask me what I wanted out of the surgery.
Once I finished all of the pre-op education and classes, I was finally read for surgery. I went into surgery weighing 245 pounds. I was so excited for the day of my surgery because I realized it was finally my time and the beginning of my new life.
Now, two and half years later, I weigh 150 pounds. I have lost forever 125 pounds. It is gone and never coming back. Bariatric surgery has changed my life in so many ways. I have so much more energy and my self-confidence has increased. Now, I get to wear cute clothes, feel sexy, and receive positive attention for the way I look and feel. I couldn’t be happier! I couldn’t have done this without Dr. Cheregi, and I would definitely give him a 5 out of 5 stars!
My biggest advice is to just do it and don’t wait. I wish I had done this much earlier.
