Why did I choose to have bariatric surgery? I had a friend who had been successful with this surgery, and Dr. Cheregi came highly recommended by her. When I met him, I instantly felt like he really was in this to save people’s lives; and he was very no-nonsense which I appreciated. I felt like from the second I contacted the office everything fell into place. Kiersten contacted my insurance and had it approved within the week. All of my appointments for pre-surgery were scheduled so quickly, it felt like this was meant to be. The weeks leading up to surgery were hard, but not as hard as I had expected. I think because I knew I was finally doing this for the right reasons and had such great support from the entire team, everything went so smoothly.
Being down to a weight, I haven’t seen since high school is literally insane to me. I don’t have foot and back pain like I did before. I’m sleeping better and have more energy…my house is actually cleaner because I’m not just sitting around. I am making mindful choices about what I am eating and try to always eat protein before anything else. These are things I would not have even thought about this time a year ago. My best advice would be to tell someone considering bariatric surgery is to go meet with Dr. Cheregi! He is so kind and really cares about you. You aren’t just a number in his books!
